The deadline for entries to arrive is 10 days prior to the event. If your entry is likely to arrive close to this deadline, it is advisable to contact the organiser to let them know that it is on the way. It is impossible to accept additional entries after the startsheet has been sent out.
For events run in conjunction with a cycling club, ladies should enter the M&DLCA event and men should enter the event run by the cycling club.
Cheques for entries to M&DLCA events should be payable either to the organiser (see table below), or to M&DLCA. The entry fee is listed on the CTT website (for our events, it’s normally £10).
Each year, the M&DLCA awards several prizes and trophies, which are presented at our annual dinner dance in November. These include (full details can be found in our handbook) trophies for the fastest rider over each distance, trophies for various age groups, handicap trophies, and a BAR competition (based on a rider’s average speed over 10, 25, and 50 miles).
Any event on a 25 or 50 mile J course counts for these trophies, as long as copies of the results sheet and entry form are sent to the M&DLCA BAR secretary, but the only counting 10 mile events are those organised by the M&DLCA.
The M&DLCA BAR secretary is Katherine Jackson, at 7 Burford Crescent, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 6BL. The onus is on the rider to submit, where required, copies of the entry form and results sheet to the M&DLCA BAR secretary before 1st October of the current season.
All ladies are very welcome at our events, especially novices, schoolgirls and juniors. However, in order to qualify for any of the M&DLCA prizes or trophies, your club needs to be affiliated to the Association for £10 per year (which covers all your lady members), or you can become a first claim private member for £1 per year.
